We rely on email reports from the coaching staff. If your team is showing a bunch of ties it is likely due to the scores not being reported. The website counts an unreported score as a 0-0 tie. Email your score reports to firstname.lastname@example.org ! Your email should include the age group, date, home team and score, and visiting team and score. An example email is :
"On May 32, the Major Dinos beat the Major Pains 4-3. Johnny Pain hit a solo home run for the Dinos."
In the event of a conflicting score being reported, the league staff will use the official scorebook for final determination. Managers of both teams need to ensure it is correct after the game.
The sluggers database is likewise updated based on feedback from the coaching staff. If Johnny hit a home run in a game, report it after the game in which it happened. Do not send an email saying "Johnny has 10 home runs this season". We will not accept it because we would have to review the scorebooks for the whole season. Again, report Johnny's homers as they happen!
Another note about the sluggers... In Minor and above, we only recognize "over the fence" home runs. In Mini-Minors and below, it is based on the batter clearing all bases during his/her at-bat. The reason is, we don't record errors in the younger age games.
